Substitutes For Waxing

Last Monday, in full preparation for the Ministerial Conference of Francophony, during the transition from our secretary of state for the Francophonie, Mr. Bockel, we were graciously invited (respondents?) at a reception at the Residence de France ...

Small cocktail Remarks by the Ambassador speech quite relaxed and pleasant Mr. Secretary of State ... and then distributing a pretty printed brochure on the occasion of the new light fittings designed to highlight some of the monuments of the capital.

The project, designed by the company Citelum and funded by our agency Development, AFD would be opened just in the transition from Mr Bockel. Indeed, the play of light, sublime cited the pretty, now visible at night, which was not previously the case.
Well, without wanting to play the killjoy, for that matter an entire ceremonial around this project, both to be careful when writing pads to avoid commercials ... say anything ... because to say that Vientiane is the capital of Laos, this is really wrong kind ...

Can You Drink In An Rv Wisconsin

The That Luang in full splendor

Of all the major traditional festivals and popular the That Luang is by far my favorite.

Having more room to move around (unlike the festivities taking place along the Mekong ...), to have an overview of the monument as a backdrop, makes the pretty impressive event.

This year, the esplanade of the That Luang, was more than ever invaded by dozens of stalls inviting onlookers, often come in large family, feast while enjoying grilled chicken, eggs hatched, purple rice sticky ... or why not buy helium balloons or Chinese collars for multicolored glitter children? The consumer products were also at the rendezvous with their stands attractive ... And we can assure you that this direct marketing, blinding and deafening as it is, works great! People from all over Laos in the late evening, are bent under the weight of their many shopping bags!
A celebration under heavy police surveillance anyway, to believe that fear of incidents during of large gatherings to be permanently seized from Laos. of police checkpoints , body searches three times before arriving at the foot of the That, special badges for the introduction of cameras and video cameras ... All with a smile happily. But a little bitter aftertaste of change in the air ...

The sad note of the weekend ... my little compact has finally given up the ghost ... So we took over the "brick" Bookseller, discrete point, but quite effective nonetheless.

I-catcher Console - Web Monitor Japan

Let's talk about work ... The Enchanted Manor

... since this weekend I'm working, I am sharing a little of what's happening in Vientiane on 19, 20 and 21 November (in direct and WiFi (!), The press room Don Chanh Palace !) .

Indeed, this week begins the Ministerial Conference of Francophonie, which stands between the Summits of la Francophonie to ensure political continuity. For this meeting "intermediate" Heads of state of the 55 member countries (and 13 observers) will be represented by their foreign minister or by their minister (or secretary of state, in the case of France) in charge of Francophonie . The meetings will take place the next few days, are responsible for ensuring the enforcement of judgments adopted at the Bucharest Summit and prepare the next to be held in Quebec. Representatives will vote on major multilateral action and French this year the main theme will be "French, a tool for solidarity and promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity."

For Laos, the desire to organize this gathering here in Vientiane was a great and noble gesture towards this Organization. This shows somewhere, even if the generation that comes to power is rather English (or Vietnamese students ...) and that the teaching of French collapses (sniff) there are people who still believe. For OIF, the act of organizing the conference here, reaffirms what I have heard for several years now: that the organization attaches some importance to the Asia-Pacific and is determined to continue the promotion of use of French in the area. Of course, have fine ideals, a sort of 'Potemkin village', behind which lurk the political-commercial purposes significant ... but for those who know me, I sincerely believe that the Francophonie can be a vector of solidarity and development.

So good, anyway, looks a tough week ...

So, while Mr. is in Luang Prabang, also for work, Ms. defends the Francophonie, with its limited resources;)

Cheers Francophonie ... or what!?!

Color Of Throat Cancer

I've been saying for several months, with the accumulated mess of our trips, successive moves, gifts, shopping, etc., we are very cramped in our little dollhouse.

Anyway, not wanting to move, we can not push the walls

... Well ... Maybe so, just ...

As I stroll through our streets this week, I found an original way, failing cellar, storage room or shed, being found our neighbors to stored efficiently and without loss of their gear up: between the two!

I suspect that even the green table also came out of the hole ... not hard to organize a magic wand 'aperitifs' improvised!

Do we still get along well with his neighbors and label business ...

Clever no?

System D. .. or nothing!
