Female Teacher Paddling

A spirit house not very Catholic ...

If you're a faithful reader, you probably remember the "Ho" or House of the Spirits , mentioned at the beginning of this Blog. Well, here is a revisited version! Overview

last week during a trip to Bangkok, this altar is the entrance to a bar "hostess" ... Like what, as we say in Brazil, we may well light a candle to God, while flattering the Devil!

What Does The Color Of Wrist Bands Mean

Not too much in my "editorial" usual ...

... but good.

For several weeks I spend in front of the panel (just Next to the entrance of Wat Sokpaluang) and I do not know why but every time I laugh softly ...

It always makes me think of Nathalie Nothomb's autobiographical novel Metaphysics tubes ... as well as excellent page Engrish.com that my father introduced me some years ago already ...

then Holy CARP! :)

Deposit Checks Into An Atm

Today is March 20, International Day of Francophonie!

A tongue that moves, changing, mind-blowing;
A language full of color, textures, flavors,
A language that erases the boundaries, blurring the distance

A language allows us to communicate, you and me.

Vhr Sun Capsule Installation

Never without my neighbor!

is lunch at La La Yu this week we have yet seen an architectural Lao! No columns, no gilding, no pets ... there is another kind of wonder ... In fact, a feat: to build as close as possible to the building neighbor!

Having lived almost 5 years in Asia now, I know that the intimacy and sense of ownership are good things about. We westerners are much more fierce, the idea of sharing our lives, including that of our household.

one, the direction of the nuclear family, mom-dad-children, is not really like ours. I always tell my staff that this is thermonuclear family with grandparents, cousins (siblings or not), nephews, nieces, and so on! Being myself late and only child, (and surplus daughter of an only son), a 'family' everywhere, as I have experienced, sometimes with friends, for me is synonymous with mess and muddles!

And two, here in Laos, neighbors also is sort of, members of the family.

So now, let's face it, I go with a serious handicap to understand as it is pin and all ...

But there are limits to avoid close, anyway! At the construction of residential buildings (the famous condos that are found throughout the capitals of Southeast Asia), replacing gradually the houses, the neighborhood is changing, modernizing and 'verticals'.

Here, no need to knock on the door to ask if the neighbor can lend us some rice ... it gets on the floor! or better, we use ourselves! (I do not know if it is clear, but there are indeed the windows on both sides!)

Ensemble, c'est tout ... or nothing!

Can You Take Creatine And Superpump

First ... the end! The Parthenon

I do not know ... I recently donated do not quite understand some things.

Here is a good example, images related to construction (nothing to do with a heightened sensitivity to structures in general, due to the fact that for six long months, is cut, we clap, we saw, is hammered, it knocks etc.. right next to our bedroom).

Very often, I notice that when we begin to erect a new building, it begins work as soon as possible to end up!

The walls are not even built the same floor not level, as these are already aligned paint pots, gold leaf already purchased the ornaments out of their boxes!

This gives the false impression that often "it will eeeeest" It's almost over!

From our side (and revert to my obsession of the moment), the Bookseller and I claimed victory came when he saw the pots of orchids and fairy lights ... Jubilee then we saw the workers bring the furniture ... and then 3 months of construction after fierce!

Friday evening we saw the light panel lighting. The light at the end of the tunnel ... What was our surprise on Saturday morning around 7 am to wake up to the sound of a drill, a continued concert-jig saws, extended by a trio of hammers ... This charming band occurs again and again from 7 to 19, daily at Ban Thong Kang ...

Note: the building next door is a PPS (!) That is already open (!!!) but, strangely and hype, does not seem to attract many customers ...

How To Make A Fake Bleeding Cut

kit

From the time we trip on the columns of Lao houses, we finally found the store where you can buy!

On the way to Dong Dok (the area housing the headquarters of the National University of Laos to the north-eastern center), many stores offer these beautiful pillars, different sizes and colors available to turn into an instant your ordinary house into a palace greco-roman!

You've got that you at Mr. Handyman?

Black Dresses Below The Knee

2008: The Year of the villas abstruse

unbridled imagination of Lao architects continues to amaze us, even after three years. The "Season 2008" promises to be rich in architectural projects phenomenal ... Not too have had time to walk us since our return, we still managed to finding pearls the last two weekends.
Here, what caught our attention was the first gate, so Walt Disney: fawns, squirrels, peacocks ... It was like in the forest Snow White ... I'm sure if we had it coming, you could find a dwarf or two ... However, what was behind the portal is also worth its weight in pixels: still a villa as Dallas, currently under construction. Eight columns supporting a massive tent angled up at least three floors. On the sides, wings asymmetrical enough of a taste ... particular.

We follow the construction closely and we'll keep you posted!
(thank you Gandalf!)
